Chamber Five-
The Hall Of Re-Unification
You were never half.
You had simply forgotten how to hold your wholeness.

Welcome to The Hall Of Re-Unification
Home-Sickness is the desire to be at Home
There is a strange thing we humans do.
We spend much of our lives searching for
someone who can give us what we have somehow lost.
Someone who makes us feel safe.
Someone strong enough that we can finally relax.
Someone tender enough that we can finally soften.
Someone who sees us.
Chooses us.
Stays.
And underneath all these different longings may live
one ancient longing:
Take me Home.
Sophia ...an old story

SOPHIA COMES HOME
She is a story about remembering.
There is an old story
hidden inside many spiritual traditions.
The sacred feminine leaves the fullness of unity
and descends into separation.
In some Gnostic traditions, she is called Sophia:
Wisdom.
Her journey becomes one of fragmentation, longing, searching and eventually restoration.
We don't have to take the story literally for it to speak to something deeply human.
Because perhaps Sophia's story is also ours.
The strong part meets the vulnerable part

Sophia says:

""You don't have to become
the Real Me.
You only have to remember
that you never stopped being
the Real Me."

THE INNER MARRIAGE-HIEROS GAMOS
Re-Unification
We tend to imagine marriage
as two people coming together.
But there is another marriage
that can quietly take place inside us.
Jung wrote about individuation:
the gradual integration of what has been unconscious,
rejected, projected or left outside our familiar identity.
You could call it becoming more whole.
Or, in the language of this temple:
Re-Unification.
The strong part meets the vulnerable part.
The adult meets the child.
The light meets the shadow.
Yes, I Do!

THE FATHER WHO STAYS
You do not have to hold everything alone.
Somewhere inside us lives a very simple question:
Can I trust life to hold?

Will the ground remain beneath me?

Will someone stay when things become difficult?

Can I make a mistake without everything collapsing?

Can I rest without having to keep the whole world together?

This is the territory of the Stability Field.
Symbolically, we can call it the Father Field.
Am I safe to be?

THE MOTHER WHO ALLOWS
Am I Safe to take up space.
And then there is another question.
Perhaps even more tender:
Am I safe to be?
Safe to feel.
Safe to need.
Safe to cry.
Safe to receive.
Safe to take up space.
Safe to say no.
Safe to be joyful without waiting for something bad to happen.
This is the territory of the Safety Field.
Symbolically, the Mother Field.

Now something beautiful becomes possible.

WHEN MOTHER AND FATHER MEET
Safety meets Stability.
Now something beautiful becomes possible.

Safety meets Stability.

Mother meets Father.
Heart meets structure.
Tenderness meets direction.

One says:
You may be exactly as you are.

The other says:
And I will stand beside you while you become
what wants to emerge.
You can finally rest

DEAR FRIEND,
DEAR SEEKER OF RE-UNIFICATION

Dear Friend,
Maybe you came here thinking there was something inside you that needed fixing.

A wounded child.
A frightened nervous system.
An overactive mind.
A heart that has been disappointed too many times.
A masculine side that became too hard.
A feminine side that became too accommodating.
A Mother who couldn't hold enough.
A Father who couldn't stay enough.
Perhaps some of that is part of your story.

But I would like to offer you another possibility before we leave this chamber.

What if your deepest work isn't repair?
What if it is reunion?
Because so much of what we call healing seems to involve bringing something Home.
The feeling we rejected.
The vulnerability we hid.
The anger we weren't allowed to express.
The strength we were afraid to embody.
The child we abandoned in order to become acceptable.
The shadow we projected onto someone else.
The love we kept trying to receive from people who couldn't give it.
Piece by piece...
Home.
Perhaps this is why Sophia's ancient story still speaks to us.
Why Jung spoke about individuation.
Why stories of sacred inner marriage appear across cultures.
Why relationships can simultaneously feel like heaven and drive us completely bloody mad.
Something in us longs for union.
And because we don't always recognize that longing internally, we project it outward.
Complete me.
Choose me.
Protect me.
Make me safe.
Tell me I'm enough.
Never leave me.

There is nothing shameful about these longings.
They tell us something.
They point toward the places where separation still hurts.
But there comes a moment when we may gently stop asking
another human being to become the missing architecture of our inner temple.
We begin building from within.
The inner Mother says:
You are welcome here.
The inner Father says:
I am staying.
The child slowly looks up.
Really?
Yes.
Even when you're frightened.
Even when you fail.
Even when you don't know.
Even when somebody rejects you.
Even when your carefully constructed plans collapse spectacularly.
Still here.
This is Safety meeting Stability.
And perhaps this is where something like an inner Hieros Gamos
becomes more than a beautiful spiritual idea.
It becomes lived.
Tenderness no longer needs rescuing because strength has come Home.
Strength no longer needs to fight everything because tenderness has come Home.
The Heart doesn't have to defeat the mind.
The mind doesn't have to protect us from the Heart.
They begin listening to one another.
And then something rather unexpected happens.
The war loses soldiers.
There are fewer enemies.
Fewer missing pieces.
Fewer people carrying parts of ourselves that we unconsciously need them to return.
You can still love deeply.
Perhaps more deeply.
But now love doesn't have to mean:
Please complete me.
It can begin to mean:
I meet you from my wholeness,
and I welcome yours.
Two people.
Two perspectives.
Two extraordinary little universes.
Neither required to disappear into the other.
And yet...
for moments...
separation softens.
Maybe that's the paradox.
We don't arrive at Oneness by destroying individuality.
We become increasingly whole individuals who no longer need individuality to become separation.
That is why I like the word Re-Unification.
Not creating unity.
Remembering it.
Not becoming One.
Discovering that beneath all these apparently separate pieces...
One was never actually divided.
So before you leave this chamber, perhaps place one hand on your Heart.
No technique.
No spiritual performance.
Just notice.
The Mother within you.
The Father within you.
The child between them.
The mind above them.
The body beneath them.
Your darkness.
Your light.
Your strength.
Your tenderness.
Your contradictions.
Your ridiculousness.
Your beauty.
All invited.
All belonging.
All Home.
And from this inner union, dear friend, we are almost ready for the final chamber.
Because once you stop searching outside yourself for the Source of your wholeness...
something extraordinary becomes possible.
You can begin to Re-Source.
But that's another room.
For now...
stay here for a moment.
There is no hurry.
The wedding has only just begun.
With Love,
Peaceful Presence
